The DOVA

What is the DOVA made from?

The DOVA play sofa is made with high density, super comfy, polyurethane foam. The cover is a commercial grade polyester/nylon blend which is treated with stain protection.

We comply with the UK’s strict fire safety regulations. Both the foam and the fabric are fire resistant.

What fabric is the cover made from? Is the fabric decent quality?

We use a fabric that is both comfortable and tough. It needs to resist the wear and tear of young kids, but also be comfortable enough to cuddle up on.

The fabric has an extremely high rating on the Martindale rub test (45,000), as well as category 5 for resistance to pilling and colour fastness to rubbing. In addition, the fabric is Oeko-Tex 100 Standard 100 compliant, providing additional testing for harmful substances.

How big is the DOVA?

The clever answer is that a DOVA can be as many different shapes and sizes as your child can imagine. 

The helpful answer is that in regular sofa form, a DOVA measures 162cm wide and 81cm deep, the top of the seat pieces sit 25cm above the ground and the top of the triangle pieces sit 55cm above the ground. Click here to see an example of the DOVA's dimensions.


How safe is the DOVA for kids?

Safety is a very important part of your DOVA day. The DOVA has been tested to meet industry standards.

However according to UK toy regulations the DOVA is not suitable for children under 36 months. While we want you to have the most fun possible, please make sure that play is supervised as appropriate for child’s age. 

Is this a soft play?

We think the DOVA is even better. The soft textile covers on the DOVA differ from traditional soft play vinyl, to better fit into the aesthetics of your household. Our DOVA pieces are meant to be taken apart and played with, just like soft play. 

Orders

Can I cancel my order?

If the order has not yet been shipped, contact us to cancel. If it has been shipped, you’ll need to follow our returns process. Once a cancellation is processed, the funds will be released immediately, but may take 3-10 days for the credit to post to your account. To cancel your order contact us at hello@dovaplay.com

How do I choose the right colour for my DOVA?

Our swatch service comes with all twelve DOVA colours, so you’re sure to find the one that best suits your space. Make sure to lay them out in various lights as this can make the fabric appear lighter/darker.

If you decide to order a DOVA after receiving a swatch order, you’ll get a discount code to apply to your order.

What if I want to order a new cover for my DOVA?

We want the DOVA to make your home even more beautiful! All colours will soon be available as additional cover sets, so you can purchase different DOVA covers for your sofa to change it up over time. 

Can I return my DOVA?

Yes, you can return your DOVA sofa, but we are unable to offer free return shipping unless the sofa is faulty. Make sure to use our swatch service before ordering to find the perfect colour of DOVA for your home.

If there are any manufacturing faults with the product, please notify us as soon as possible (within seven days). If you have to send back your DOVA because something is faulty, we'll cover the return costs.

As stated in the Terms & Conditions at purchase, all returns must be unused and in their original condition (including all original, inner and outer protective packaging intact and as it arrived to you).

You must complete your return within 30 days of the date of receiving your order.

Please be aware:

-          you are responsible for arranging the return and all related costs.

-          the original shipping costs to you are not refunded.

-          sale items may not be eligible for return.

-          If the product is faulty, a refund will be arranged. 

What if I need a different colour?

Part of why we made the DOVA was to create a product that would look beautiful in your home. Our swatch service helps you find the perfect colour to fit with your interior. If you place an order after receiving your swatch kit, you’ll get a DOVA discount to use at checkout. You can read more about our swatch service here and order a swatch pack here

If you are not 100% happy with your colour on delivery, return within 30 days of the date of your order, however please note we cannot offer free return shipping unless the DOVA is faulty.

All colours will soon be available as additional cover sets, so instead of making a color adjustment, you can always grab any future colors as a separate cover set.

What if there is a problem?

If there are any manufacturing issues with the product, we want to hear about it. Please notify us within seven days of receiving your DOVA. If your DOVA is found to be faulty, we'll cover the return costs.

Shipping

How much is delivery?

Delivery is free to most mainland UK addresses. A regional shipping fee of £36 applies to addresses in Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly and the following postcodes in the Scottish Highlands and Islands: AB36-38, AB55-56, FK17-21, IV1-39, IV52-54, IV63, KW1-14, PA21-40, PH19-26, PH30-41, PH49-50, HS1-9, IV40-51, IV55-56, KA27-28, KW15-17, PA20, PA41-49, PA60-78, PH42-44, ZE1-3.

How long is delivery?

Orders for in-stock items will be delivered in 1-2 days for mainland UK addresses (or 2-5 days for the regional areas mentioned above).  


Out of stock items can be pre-ordered to secure your place in our next product drop.


Do you ship internationally?

Not at the moment, although we are working on it. If you’re from outside the UK, send us an email and we’ll do our best to bring DOVA to your country very soon! 

How will my DOVA arrive?

Our product is shipped in two boxes of dimensions:

Box 1 – 83cm x 83cm x 58cm

Box 2 – 83cm x 83cm x 27cm

We don’t vacuum pack the DOVA, as this can damage the foam and wrinkle the fabric. So your sofa will be ready to use from the moment it arrives.


Please note that some couriers choose to deliver the boxes separately. We always request them to be delivered together on the same day, but occasionally this does not happen. Don't worry though, all of your DOVA pieces are on their way.

How long can it stay in the box for?

As long as it’s in a cool and dry environment, the DOVA can stay in the box for as long as you need. We ask you to inform us of any manufacturing defects within seven days of receiving the product, so please keep this in mind.

When will my swatch pack arrive?

Your swatch kit will arrive with you in 3-5 business days from dispatch.

Payments

How can I buy my DOVA?

We accept payment by direct debit, PayPal, Visa, Klarna, Mastercard and American Express from within the United Kingdom.

How does Klarna Pay work?

You can spread the cost of your purchase into interest-free instalments. The first payment is made at point of purchase, with remaining instalments scheduled automatically every 30 days. Klarna will email you to keep you right. 

Can you issue invoices?

Yes, please email hello@dovaplay.com. However, please note that due to the strict fire regulations in the UK, the DOVA is sold for domestic use only.

Can I purchase for my business?

The DOVA meets the Low Hazard category of BS 7176, meaning that it is typically suitable for non-domestic use in schools and nurseries. Please contact us at hello@dovaplay.com if you have any questions.

Care

I spilled something on my DOVA?

With kids, spills are part of life. So we use a tough stain proofing method to protect the DOVA. Find out how to remove pesky stains here

How do I clean my DOVA?

All DOVA covers are machine washable. Covers can be washed on a cool wash cycle and tumble dried on a low temperature. They can also be dry cleaned. After the first wash, there’s a small risk of shrinkage, so we recommend hanging dry at the beginning. Read more about caring for your DOVA here.

What if it gets wet?

Don’t panic! For water, remove covers immediately and hang dry. Only put back on once fabric and foam are completely dry. For other liquids, you’ll want to follow our other cleaning instructions. Read more about caring for your DOVA here

Do I need to use fabric protection?

Nope. Our commercial grade fabric comes with a high quality stain protection. Read more about caring for your DOVA here
